Gosaku Ota (Kanji 桜多 吾作, Hiragana おうた ごさく, Roumaji Outa Gosaku) is a former member of Dynamic Production and a prolific cartoonist on his won right. His real name is Junichi Ota, (Kanji 太田 順一, Hiragana おおた じゅんいち, Roumaji Oota Jun'ichi). He has also used the pseudonym of Satoshi Kitagawa (Kanji 北川 賢, Hiragana きたがわ さとし, Roumaji Kitagawa Satoshi). Ota was born on March 16, 1948, in the city of Kaminoyama of the Yamagata prefecture, Japan.

His professional debut was in 1971 with Himawari-chan for Shueisha's magazine Bessatsu Shonen Jump. He is mostly known for his versions of the 1970s super robots of Dynamic, Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Getter Robot and UFO Robot Grendizer. He is also the main designer of Groizer X. He is still drawing comic books independently.
